Our CSR Agenda is driven by the fact that the organization depends on the economic, environmental and social wellbeing of the society hence the obligation to ensure business processes contribute to its sustainability. In doing so, Yako Bank has embraced community initiatives in the areas of Children and the Islamic Faith. We also plan to engage in many other upcoming events where we give back to our community.
Kids of Africa Run 2024 (Official Partners Since 2016)
Yako Bank Uganda is proud to partner with the Kids of Africa Marathon, an annual event that brings together over 1,000 runners to support meaningful community causes. This year, the marathon focused on raising awareness about menstrual health and empowering girls to stay in school. Proceeds from the event went towards the provision of reusable sanitary pads in collaboration with Days for Girls, a non-profit organisation dedicated to eliminating menstrual barriers for young women.
Participants in the marathon can choose between the 5km, 10km, and 21km race categories, with prizes awarded to top performers. The event also featured live performances by top DJs and artists (Azawi Music), making it a fun and impactful way to contribute to the community.
Yako Bank and other passionate participants participate in this important cause, to ensure a brighter, healthier future for girls in Uganda.
Ramadan Mubarak Donations
In partnership with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Nakawa Division, Yako Bank contributed up to 1 Ton of Kakira Sugar, Cooking Oil, Flour and other Household materials to the Islamic community as they concluded the Ramadan Fasting period. The community welcomed the donation happily and it was a proud moment for the Bank.
