Our CSR agenda is driven by the understanding that Yako Bank depends on the economic, environmental and social wellbeing of the society around us. This creates an obligation to ensure that our business and community initiatives contribute to sustainability.
Through community engagement, support for children and faith-based initiatives, environmental action, wellness and youth development, we continue to identify practical opportunities to give back to the communities we serve.
Kids of Africa Run 2026 & Environmental Clean-Up
Yako Bank participated in the Kids of Africa Run 2026 as part of the Bank’s continued commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and meaningful community engagement.
Beyond participating in the run, Yako Bank staff also undertook an environmental ESG activity at the school, collecting plastic waste from the grounds and ensuring that it was properly disposed of at designated collection points.
The activity highlighted the link between community development, responsible citizenship and maintaining clean, safe and sustainable spaces.

Kids of Africa Run 2025
Yako Bank joined the Kids of Africa Marathon as the event marked 20 years of community impact and raised awareness around sanitation, menstrual health and education for girls.

This year’s marathon was extra special — celebrating 20 years of the Kids of Africa community and their unwavering commitment to uplifting lives.
With over 1,000 runners uniting under the theme “Empowering the Girl Child through Sanitation,” the event raised awareness and support for improved menstrual health and education for girls in Uganda.
Yako Bank staff actively participated in the 5KM and 10KM race categories, while the Bank continued to champion initiatives that promote education, equality and wellness.
Ramadan Mubarak Donations
Yako Bank visited the Muslim communities of Kamwokya and Bukoto and handed over essential household items in support of the community during Ramadan.

The initiative reflected Yako Bank’s commitment to giving back to the people and communities it serves.
Kids of Africa Run 2024
Yako Bank continued its partnership with the Kids of Africa Marathon, supporting community causes focused on menstrual health and keeping girls in school.

The marathon brought together more than 1,000 runners and supported the provision of reusable sanitary pads in collaboration with Days for Girls.
Participants took part in 5km, 10km and 21km race categories, combining community participation with support for a meaningful cause.
Ramadan Mubarak Donations
In partnership with KCCA Nakawa Division, Yako Bank supported the Islamic community with food and household supplies as Ramadan came to a close.

Supporting Uganda’s Rising Talent
Yako Bank, together with the Ugandan Friends of Korea Association, supported initiatives at the National Theatre that created platforms for young Ugandan talent.
