Yako Bank (U) Limited was upgraded from a Microcredit Credit Institution by Bank of Uganda in 2020.

In September 2015, Yako got its license to operate as a deposit-taking institution and started operations under the name Yako Microfinance (U) Limited. It upgraded to a Credit Institution in 2020 and was licensed to operate as Yako Bank (U) Limited.

Yako Bank (U) Limited is located in Kampala with its head office at Forest Mall Lugogo with branches at Raja Chambers on Parliament Avenue and in Jinja on Main Street.

At Yako Bank, our focus is to address needs through rugged, efficient, reliable, and economical products, in line with the world’s best, while maintaining continuous interaction with our customer to access their emerging requirements so as to be ready when the needs arise. We believe that agriculture, being the backbone of our economy in Uganda, holds the key to Food Safety, economic growth, and improved living which are necessary for empowering our brethren.
